The chair rocks back
And forward again,
I look and I wonder
I can’t remember when,
Children are playing
With so much joy,
Young men and women
All looking so coy,
Onward I travel and see
Many places and things
My mind drifts backwards
Cheer and sadness it brings,
Shadows dance from the light of the lamp
The evening grows long
But here I sat enticed and entranced,
Escaping the cold night's air
All wrapped and snug in my shoal
Looking at the past from the present
Taking my time searching my soul,
As I thumb through my photo album
Under the light's soft gentle glow
All of these memories make me wonder
Where did it go?
Where did it go…?
